Say goodbye to Frankfurt's petrified son. Plunge into the hustle and bustle on the wide, cobbled promenade lined with plane trees, which is delimited on both sides by a white marble strip and flanked by numerous restaurants - so it's no wonder that the name of the street is based on enjoyment and gourmet food. ;)
Follow it west until you stand in front of a magnificent building where countless concerts and events take place in a particularly venerable setting.

After the Alte Oper was destroyed in World War II, the opera house, originally completed in 1880, was rebuilt in the Neo-Renaissance style in the 1970s and inaugurated in 1981. The Lucae fountain in front of the opera was recreated in a different style and is now a popular meeting place for tourists and locals alike.
