Follow the path for about 400 meters further into the forest towards Scheerwald until you reach a wooden bridge on the left.
What you hardly notice as a simple walker has a historical background – the ditch along the path (and over which this bridge leads) marks the Sachsenhausen Landwehr from the 14th/15th century. This was decided at the time to protect the urban area.
In April the entire forest floor along the path is covered with wild garlic. The strongly fragrant plant is increasingly being used in a variety of delicious dishes.
